Vision
My aim, along with many others, is to help raise awareness of inequalities in the world, and also to create an understanding of how interdependent we, and events, are.
We, who have “won the lottery” by being born in one of the richest and wealthiest countries in the world, cannot keep on living in the way we do regardless of the consequences.
We all depend on each other as well as on the natural world around us and planet Earth. We have a common responsibility for each other – and for the world.
With a profoundly humanistic view on life I hope to inspire others to find their way to live in a more ethical, resource-saving and environmentally friendly way.
My business idea is built on three pillars:
1. Consultancy in CSR
Corporate Social Responsibility is a well known term which includes all the issues that companies must deal with in order to reduce their negative impact ethically, socially and environmentally.
Incorporating CSR within company ethos means first and foremost that the company recognizes its responsibility in the areas mentioned above, and then formulates and puts into practice ideas about how to have a positive impact on the environment and people’s working conditions.
Lectures
I give lectures in CSR and lead chat groups, study circles etc.
Education
Organizations and companies which want to establish their own CSR policy can get help with the processes of forming a vision, of involving and engaging employees and of instituting an action plan of how to work with CSR issues.
Project leadership
I develop, start and run projects connected to CSR and Human Rights issues along with development work within SME’s and organisations, such as the elaboration of visions and action plans to enable goals set for the company to be reached. I am trained in project leading and have several years experience in this area.
2. Proof-reading
I also carry out proof-reading of books, booklets and other kinds of publications for publishing houses and organizations.
My experience in this field was gained during several years of proofreading for a well-known morning paper. Here I learnt the necessary skills whilst working “at the coalface”, and this, combined with a meticulous and methodical approach and a real feeling for the written word enables me to detect and correct those little grammatical and typographical errors which can escape the notice of others’ second or even third reading.
A text which has been carefully proofread and free of spelling and grammatical errors lends a more professional feel to any document and is significantly easier to read.
3. Fair trade shop - Juste a’Fair
My shop exists both on the net and in real life. The latter is found in Norrköping, where I share space with the music collective Grammofon, an environment stimulating to both mind and the senses.
The range of products is presently limited to shoes and t-shirts but what they have in common is that they are produced under fair conditions from organically grown hemp and cotton. I sell sneakers and Unswooshers from Blackspot, and t-shirts and also some hoodies from THTC – The Hemp Trading Company.
The whole idea of Fair Trade is based on the following principles:
- Products should be produced by people who receive fair wages that they can live on.
- Workers should have the opportunity to develop both economically and socially.
- People must have a safe and secure working environment.
- Child labour must not be used.
- Slave labour must not be used.
- Environmental considerations must be taken into account.
- Women and men should have equality in terms of both pay and opportunities.
- The UN’s declaration on Human Rights must be adhered to.
- The UN’s declaration on Child labour must also be adhered to.
- The fundamental conventions of the ILO must be complied with.
Sustainable development
This means a development of society that can fulfil its needs without putting at stake the opportunities for future generations to fulfil their needs.
It’s all about the different dimensions of society: economical, social, cultural and environmental. To live in a more environmentally friendly way, to work for equality and universal education or to fight poverty – there are many ways in which we all can work towards achieving a sustainable society and there is always something that each of us can contribute in order to attain this goal
